The Chrysalis Foundation works in partnership with its grantees to assure economic stability and leadership opportunities for all women and girls in Greater Des Moines. Information on its 2008 Community Grants funding opportunities will be available by September 1, 2008, and a Grant Seeker’s Conference will be scheduled after this date.

For funding consideration, activities must align with the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, and Priorities --

OUR VISION is that all women and girls in Greater Des Moines have the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

OUR MISSION is to develop strong women and girls in Greater Des Moines through education, grant making, and philanthropy.

OUR PRIORITIES focus on economic self-sufficiency and leadership skills in women and girls.

DEFINITIONS

Economic self-sufficiency: The condition in which a woman or girl has sufficient assets to meet basic needs, including the knowledge, skills, and ability to access available community support and resources.

Leadership: Having the skills, power, and ability to made decisions, problem-solve, and influence others.

Chrysalis knows that when women and girls are economically self-sufficient and have leadership skills, they achieve more, grow healthier, and fulfill their potential.

She has her own voice, and she uses it!
